LOCAL BOAT CAMBORAC SCORES 17 YELLOWTAIL AT ISLA SAN PEDRO NOLASCO

Dec. 31, 2004, Fernando Almada, San Carlos-Guaymas, Mexico Fishing Report:

The yellowtail bite is strong and steady at Punta San Antonio and amazing at Isla San Pedro Nolassco. We went out fishing on the "Camborac" to Isla San Pedro Nolasco on Dec. 31st. What a way to finish the year! It was awesome! We took off at 6.30 a.m., looked around for some giant squid, caught six of them to use as cut bait, and we headed to Isla San Pedro. We got to the south side of the island about 8 a.m., dropped the anchor at about 160 feet deep, and started bottom fishing.

We managed to get 17 nice yellowtail, some of them up to 30 pounds), 2 pargos, and a few Ocean Whitefish, from about 8 a.m. until noon. They were still biting strong when we left the island and headed back home. The ocean water temperature was at 63 degrees and the day was just wonderful, no strong winds, no cold temperatures. It was just a great day of fishing fun!
