SPORTFISHING BOAT RICOCHET LANDS
YELLOWFIN TUNA AND SKIPJACK TUNA

June 27, 2005, Robert Dryden, San Carlos, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:

I fished out of San Carlos, Mexico, over the weekend with Allan Smith on Ricochet. We fished between 210 and 240 degrees out of Marina San Carlos on Saturday, between 17 and 22 miles, where we experienced a good bite on football size yellowfin tuna and skipjack tuna running together.

There were reports from other San Carlos fishing boats of occasional Dorado, but we failed to raise any on Ricochet. We did have several billfish in the spread, and unbuckled one Marlin and Sailfish on skirted Ballyhoo.

On Sunday, the seas were one foot and conditions were perfect so we returned to our location of Saturday, but fishing dropped off significantly. We boated only one Skipjack Tuna and saw no Billfish activity in the spread. Catch 22, fishing with an all female boat of fisherwomen, did release one Sailfish, and boated one big Dorado and one Yellowfin Tuna.
