NONSTOP BLUE MARLIN AND STRIPED MARLIN CAUGHT 8 MILES OUT

July 4, 2005, Steve Calvert, Catch-22, San Carlos, Mexico Fishing Report:

On July 4th, the Catch-22 was fishing 8 miles out, at a 210 degree heading from San Carlos, in flat, blue water. Fishing over the tip of the reef with 6 other boats, 3 blue marlin were released and 2 striped marlin released. From what I saw, "Reel Mule" did even better with 6 hook ups. "Martio" released at least 3 billfish, as did the other boats. It was nonstop Marlin action from 10 a.m. until about 2 p.m. At 11:30 a.m., all six San Carlos fishing boats were hooked up at the same time within 1/2 mile of us. No Dorado or Tuna at all. We had 4 first time fisherman on the boat, and they all caught Marlin. They have no idea how lucky they were.
