BUSINESS BOOMING FOR LOCAL TOURISM INDUSTRY
Oct. 10, 2004, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Report.
The weather has been just miraculous for days now, and today it is 87F out of the water, 86F in the water, and the humidity is 26%. The sky is clear light blue and San Felipe nights have been really good for sleeping, in the high 60's. Everyone is smiling.
After a very quiet week, the town is really hopping today, probably because of the first POKER RUN which has become a sort of traditional kick-off for "the season" and also because of the Columbus Day long weekend for the Gringos. The vendors are busy. Every other person is getting her hair braided it appears.
This is the way we like to see our town, with business booming, lots of bodies gallivanting on the beach, all the small taco stands hustling, and most of all, hundreds of happy faces. After all the San Felipe shrimp season is in swing, the grass is FINALLY growing on the golf course and living (for now at least) is easy. Until next time.....vaya con Dios amigos, from the book store by the (sparkling!) bay.
