COLD WINTER WEATHER BRINGS HEATERS OUT
Dec. 5, 2005, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico:
In San Felipe, the wind is blowing like crazy. This just started this morning, not too long ago. The early a.m. was beautiful, calm with blue skies, and then the sky suddenly began to cloud up and anything not tied down started to blow around. The temperature is around 60F but it feels quite a bit cooler than that, and the humidity is 44% so it's shiver-weather. All the locals are dressed for skiing, including me.
The bay is very choppy as I write this, with actual waves rolling in very rapidly in a steel gray sea. However, this seems to be a fast moving storm. There are still large patches of blue sky and the sun keeps appearing and disappearing every few minutes. Well, we are so spoiled here.
Everyone is complaining about the cold, but after all it IS December. Last night's low was about 52F and we put the heater in the bedroom at last. The town has been quiet all week, but this always happens right after Thanksgiving. The Christmas rush to the shore will commence all too soon. So from windy city, hasta la vista and vaya con Dios, from the bookstore by the bay.
