POPPA NEUTRINO WORKING ON HIS SEAGOING RAFT
March 6, 2005, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Town Report:
Hola everyone from "iffy" San Felipe. It seems we have jumped to conclusions too soon and should not have packed up our winter gear.
Yesterday San Felipe started out with a rain storm and some very black clouds, and the Hobie regatta was scheduled for that day too. Fortunately the weather cleared up by mid-afternoon and the cats were finally able to get out. As usual they made a gorgeous sight scudding around like colorful and graceful sea birds.
Today the day at San Felipe started out with the sky almost completely overcast, but now it is slowly clearing and the sky is duck egg blue. The thermometer on the balcony says 68 degrees, but it feels colder than that since the humidity is high also.
Hard to believe that it is only three weeks (!) until Easter. This year seems to be going by in a blur.
We spoke with David Pearlman, or "Poppa Neutrino", the day before yesterday and he says the launch of his ocean going raft should take place around the 16 or 17th of this month. The excitement is growing at San Felipe. The raft certainly is a very curious looking contraption, but it is apparently seaworthy.
I just looked out the window and the catamarans are out again today. It looks as if it's going to be another day in Paradise after all. Until next week, vaya con Dios from the bookstore by the bay.
