CROWDS ARRIVING FOR MEMORIAL DAY VACATIONS

Hola everyone from hot and humid San Felipe. The temperature is about 88 degrees right now and the humidity is more than 55 percent so people are sweating, and it's going to get hotter. San Felipe has been heading for the hundreds every day now, and Calexico has been getting highs in the low hundreds. Today there is no wind, and there is a slight haze over the pale blue sky. The bay is opalescent blue out in the middle and sand colored along the shore line, very beautiful.

There are lots of people in San Felipe and lots of beach activity but nothing like it will be around this time next weekend, which is of course Memorial Day Weekend. My sweet husband gave me the day off yesterday and I went with a friend to the pool out at El Dorado ranch. I had not been there for over a year and was astounded at the way things have grown. It felt like I was somewhere on the Riviera in some chic resort.

I remember when they were just digging the hole for that same pool. No doubt about it, San Felipe is BOOMING. Until next week, vaya con Dios from the bookstore by the bay.
