WIND AT MIDRIFF ISLANDS
May 21-26, 2005, Dana Kerby, Baja Sportfishing, Inc., Erik, San Felipe, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Panga Mothership Fishing Report:
Hola everyone. The seventh fishing trip of the season for the Erik out of San Felipe brought Mike Karayan and his group from the Ventura area plenty of fish.
The fishing weather was a little windy some of the time during the six days, but they did well, nonetheless. The Erik fished at Baja locations including Bahia de Los Angeles, Cardonosa, Isla San Esteban, Salsipuedes, San Bernabe, Punta Final, and the Golden Reef.
The catch was: 201 cabrilla, 203 yellowtail, 16 white seabass, 14 pargo, 2 grouper of 35 and 38 pounds, 1 black seabass of approximately 50 lb., and 259 miscellaneous other fish. The water temperature in the Midriff islands fishing area is staying in the 75 degree average range.
