SEA OF CORTEZ WINDS KNOCK OUT
FISHING AT THE GOLDEN REEF
June 18-23, 2005, Dana Kerby, Baja Sportfishing, Inc., Erik, San Felipe, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Panga Mothership Fishing Report:
The Erik, out of San Felipe, visited Refugio, Punta Diablo, La Vibora, El Pulpito, Ensenada Grande and the Islas Encantadas. Again, the wind was high on the last evening and made it impossible to go fishing at the Golden Reef.
The catch was better for some species this week, but lower for others. Yellowtail - 352; Cabrilla - 310; Grouper - 3 (one was 73 lb.); Pargo - 29; Only one leatherback grouper this week - 33 lb., and 365 miscellaneous fish, including squid, sheephead, spotted bass and smaller yellowtail and cabrilla. Check out our website soon for information on a new boat that we have acquired. It is planned to go into service in summer of 2006.
