WHITE SEABASS AND BLACK
SEA BASS AT PUNTA REMEDIOS

The Tony Reyes fished out of San Felipe for six days at the Midriff Islands. George Mendoza was Charter Master from Riverside, CA. San Francisquito Bay produced a nice hot bite for yellowtail from 15 lb. to 30 lb. and white sea bass up to 25 lb. They were caught on live bait, death bait and jigs.
Punta Remedios produced white seabass, yellowtails and some black sea bass strikes.
One big black sea bass was caught in this area and weighed 115 lbs. There was plenty of bait on this trip: mackerel, squid, sardines etc. Weather was nice 95-100 degrees F with 80 percent humidity.
Big cabrillas were caught at the Enchanted Islands on live bait fly-lined style before returning to San Felipe on Aug. 5, 2005.
The fish count for this trip: Yellowtail limits; Cabrillas 160; black sea bass 1; White Sea Bass 32; Sheep Head 15; Dorados 3; Squid 60; Roosterfish Released 2.
