PANGA MOTHERSHIP ERIK MIDRIFF ISLANDS FISHING TRIP
Oct. 1-6, 2005, Andrea Velez, Baja Sportfishing, Inc., Erik, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Panga Mothership Fishing Report:
The Erik had another trip fishing leave out of Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) for our friends in Arizona.
Fishing was great and everyone had a fantastic time. The weather was very bad due to a storm out on the water, with 3 days of over 60 m.p.h. winds. Our strong vessel, the Erik, proved its safety and stability, as not one person on the boat was seasick, and those winds were giving us all they had!
The Erik stayed longer than usual, fishing at certain islands as a result of the excellent fishing and also to avoid the wind. We fished Refugio, Vivora and a reef between Vivora and Rasa where we caught 220 yellowtail!
The Erik's fish count is as follows: 278 yellowtail, 248 cabrilla, 10 broomtail cabrilla, 16 dorado, 1 grouper (approx 45 lbs), 140 misc fish including giant squid. There were 24 anglers onboard.
