POPPA NEUTRINO RETURNS TO
WORK ON HIS SEAGOING RAFT
Oct. 16, 2005, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Town Report:
At San Felipe, the big news is that the temperature has PLUMMETED to 68 degrees! Yep, that's what it is on the balcony right now, 9:35 a.m. Sunday.
The humidity however is 34 percent, so it still feels warm. Plus the sky is clouded over and it actually looks like it might rain. Considering that the temperature on the balcony was 101 degrees only yesterday, there has been quite a change. Last night the low was a very nice mid 60's.
The bay is steel gray this morning, and slightly choppy. The water is still very warm in the 80's. But dare we think that Autumn may finally have come to our hot little town?
There is a race going on today and the street outside the store is blocked off. It isn't clear at the moment exactly what kind of race it is, maybe a combination race.
Well, "Poppa Neutrino," David Pearlman of rafting fame, has arrived back in San Felipe, and he found his raft intact and in good shape down at Laguna Percebu where it's been sitting all Summer. The people watching over it told him that at one point the road into the camp became flooded over and the raft rose nicely on its moors and bobbed around until the sea receded, no problems. He is awaiting two crews of people from the States who are on their way to collaborate with him on the trip down to Cabo, maybe with more than one raft. 'Till next time...vaya con Dios from the bookstore by the bay.
