HOT, HUMID WEATHER AND POSSIBLE AIR SERVICE
Sept. 2, 2006, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico:
We had a wonderful visit to Canada and Washington State, and we are officially open for the season as of yesterday.
Tony Reyes says there may be a new airplane contract at San Felipe, supposedly running 3 times a week out of Los Angeles and San Diego! Wouldn't that be something.
The latest news on Poppa Neutrino is that he is headed on another raft down the MIssissippi River to raise money for the people in New Orleans. This has yet to be verified.
San Felipe is still very hot and humid. Right now 10:30 a.m. it's 96 degrees on the balcony with a relative humidity of 49 percent and it feels much wetter than that. Yesterday the high in San Felipe was 106 degrees so it's bound to go up at least that high today.
The big news here is Hurricane John which will inevitably send some high winds, lots of rain and thunder storms our way. The desert will be emerald green 10 days or so from now, always a wonderful sight.
But the biggest story we've heard so far has got to be the bank robbery. We were amazed! We've heard at least 20 different stories about how it was executed and how it ended. It's bound to go down in the "Mythological History of San Felipe," a book I fervently believe somebody is secretly writing. I can't wait until it comes out. Until next week, vaya con Dios and happy Labor Day from the bookstore by the bay.
