PUERTECITOS ROAD RESURFACING PROJECT COMPLETED
Nov. 25, 2006, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico:
Hola everyone from San Felipe. Hope ya'll had a fine Thanksgiving.
Today it's nice and cool, 78 degrees on the bookstore balcony with the humidity at around 45 percent. San Felipe's weather has cooled down nicely and the bay has been looking particularly gorgeous this last week. Today it's silver because we have a scattering of clouds. The temperature goes down to a really lovely, for sleeping, low to mid 60's every night now. It's about time, since people are already Christmas shopping.
Somebody came into the bookstore yesterday afternoon and asked me if I had seen the "Green Peace" ship that has been sliding up and down on the horizon the past few days.
I had not seen it, and had not heard anything about it.
Possibly it has to do with the new plan to open up, on a limited basis, the islands known as Las Encantadas which are scattered around off the coast near Bahia de San Luis Gonzaga south of San Felipe.
These islands, although stark and barren appearing, are beautiful and do serve as the home for many many different varieties of birds, marine life and certain snakes. I am planning to find out more about this project as well as the "Green Peace" ship and I will report what I discover.
The road to Puertecitos is now entirely repaired and it's back to a cool one-hour drive to get down there. Until next time, vaya con Dios from the bookstore by the bay.
