SOME GOOD CATCHES MADE IN UNSETTLED SUMMER WEATHER CONDITIONS

¿Que tal en La Playa?--Fishing took a back seat to weather as Tropical Store Blas passed a few hundred miles southwest of Los Cabos on Tuesday bringing scant quantities of rain and plenty of waves. High waves, the resulting beach erosion, and the subsequent debris kept the local La Playita panga fleets out of the water until Friday. (Photo 1)

Friday and Saturday saw some dorado, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, and roosterfish on the tables. Sunday saw hook ups of yellowfin and dorado with most boats working the waters up the East Cape between Destiladeras and Iman Bank. (Photo 2)

Bob and Austin Lewis in town from Encinitas scored big-time with 17 yellowfin hook ups and 13 boated aboard the Nohemy of the Jose Antonio Mijares La Playa panga fleet. The largest of the catch estimated to be around 45 lbs. (Photo 3)

Puerto Los Cabos saw fit to erect two banners directing lost anglers to the La Playita panga fleet. With the daily rerouting and closure of roads leading to the village due to the marina construction, locals and visitors alike have found it difficult to ascertain what road leads where! (Photo 4)
