JUST A FEW BOATS FISHING OUT OF PALMILLA BAY

July 31, 2004, Luis Duhart, Palmilla Bay Sportfishing, San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

We had few boats going out this week and even though the weather was great the water was 81 f and clear blue, fishing was slow but constant, bait was very scarce and we had to bring some mackerel from san lucas, there was nothing from La Playita. any how with lures and some bait most of our boats went to the iman, the san luis and the gordo banks, mostly catching a few dorados and some samll tunas, also a couple of wahoos.

when these places proved no good the boats were trying on the way back close to shore and some went past palmilla to the westin hotel to los calderones banks where there were some small dorados and some pez fuertes.

paul hinspeter Jr. fished with his his family and caught 2 dorados about 12 pnds. right in front of the westin hotel after going to all the other places. the boat was alejandra 2 and the captain was felipe.
