IMAN BANK SPORTFISHING BOATS
March 5, 2005, Luis Duhart, Palmilla Bay Sportfishing, San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
We had a busy week of fishing at San Jose del Cabo (Los Cabos) with all kinds of fish and anglers. San Jose del Cabo fishing weather has been changing everyday, one day sunny and the other cloudy, but fishing conditions were good all week long. At the Iman bank, we had the Eckers, father and son Arthur and Andrew fishing.
They fished two days with sardinas in the super panga Cristine with Capt. Gustavo, and they got dorados and sierra on the first day, and pez fuerte, or amberjack, about 15 pounds, and 15 pargos from 6 to 12 pounds. Arthur's father used to bring him fishing when he was a kid, so now he is bringing his son fishing too. The story repeats itself.
We had several San Jose del Cabo sportfishing cruisers going out with mostly marlin hook and releases at the Gordo Banks with mackerel baits.
We had also Jeff and Barb Bode fishing in a panga for 3 days. They went for sierras catching up to 15 a day and when they tried for the marlins but with no luck. But the sierras were everywhere near San Luis banks. The fishing has been good and most anglers are returning happy with a lot of fish. The main spots were the Gordo banks, Iman and San Luis. Some marlin were caught about 17 miles off Punta Ballena.
