WESTERN OUTDOOR NEWS ANGLERS FISHING AT PALMILLA
Aug. 19, 2005, Luis Duhart, San Jose del Cabo fishing, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
We had a busy fishing week at San Jose del Cabo, and the sea and the fish cooperated a lot.
We had some guys from Western Outdoor News fishing with us, Mike and Dan. The Cortinas, Janice and Ken, also came sea fishing for their first time and they caught a 300 pound blue marlin at the Gordo Banks with a lure. They tried with live bait but this time the lures were better. They went with Capt. Domingo in the Rancho super panga
Bait at San Jose del Cabo has been mostly bonita and sardines and it is not that regular.
Then we had Mauricio from Mexico city fishing with a nice 18 pound dorado caught at the Vinorama area and a small pargo. It was a long day with few fish but worth it. He went with Capt. Gustavo in the Cristine super panga.
We had a 500 pounder blue marlin caught off the Westin about 15 miles out by one of our cruisers.
San Jose del Cabo fishing weather has been excellent and hot. The sea is really blue now and most boats are catching something. Some tuna action has been reported but our fleet no luck. Rooster and pargo are around and fishing is back to normal.
