MANY ANGLERS AT LOS CABOS FOR WESTERN OUTDOOR NEWS EVENT
Oct. 8, 2005, Luis Duhart, Palmilla Bay Sportfishing, San Jose del Cabo, Mexico Fishing Report:
We had a lot of anglers fishing at San Jose del Cabo this week for the Western Outdoor News event. Fishing was great after the storm. Looks like the fish were ready to hook.
We had 29 anglers in different boats, cruisers and super pangas. All of them came out with fish, mostly tuna from 20 to 60 pounds, lots of chopos and cabrilla, two wahoos, and some pargos.
There were also 5 marlins released, and only one black marlin of about 310 pounds was brought it. It was caught on the 28 foot cruiser Charly II with Capt. Jesus by Cliff Jones.
We also had John Engelhardt with his grandson who caught his first marlin, releasing all three of them.
Richard Treverthan went on a super panga "Mariana" with Capt. Rafael and caught his first wahoo, 18 pounds.
A 205 pound tuna was caught from a panga, trolling with a 20 pound barrilete.
Most boats were fishing at the Iman and San Luis banks and the bait was mostly sardines and lisa. The weather is excellent and warm. Perfect fishing conditions.
