PERFECT WEATHER AND HEAVY BOTTOM FISH ACTION WITH PEDRO'S PANGAS

Aug. 21, 2004, Kevin Facius, San Quintin fishing, Baja California, Mexico:

During the week of 8-16-04, I fished one day with Pedro's Pangas of San Quintin. The weather was perfect (sunny afternoons and light afternoon breeze), the sea was calm and the bottom fishing was pretty much on fire. There were spotty catches of White Seabass and Yellowtail, otherwise it was wide open San Quintin fishing for Rock Cod, Lings, Sand Bass, whitefish and Sheephead. We got large numbers of those fish, but Yellowtail was most notable.

Landing: Pedro's Pangas. Boat: Rommy. Skipper: Beto. Water: 58-60 F and green. Depth: 80-100 feet. Location: South of the San Quintin bay entrance on various rock piles. Tackle: White iron jigs provided instant hook-ups as soon as it got near the bottom!

All in all, it was a really good trip. Now it's back to work!
