KELLY CATIAN'S NEW K&M OFFSHORE SPORTFISHING OPERATION
Sept. 13, 2004, Capt. Kelly Catian, K&M Off-Shore Sportfishing Announcement, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico:
I'll be leaving El Capitan Sportfishing to form a new San Quintin sportfishing charter service, with my long time friend Monte Kotur, as owner/operator of K&M OFF-SHORE SPORTFISHING, San Quintin, B.C., Mexico.
I will skipper K&M's brand new San Quintin sportfisher, a custom built 26ft Pilothouse Cruiser. The new boat will be overnight capable and family friendly with below deck sleeping quarters and private walk-in head (toilet) The vessel will be powered by a new 225hp 4-stroke Yamaha Outboard. The boat is being designed for extended offshore operation and has a 350 mile range. Vessel is a fully inclosed forward pilothouse with tuna tower. She has raised deck, keeping you dry even in snotty weather. With a huge wide-open rear deck that can handle 6 fishermen on her rails, and an oversized bait tank for extended trips, this boat was designed for true offshore operation and maximum comfort.
Capt. Oscar Catian (my son) will run K&M's 26ft center console/tuna tower. Powered by 115 hp 4-stroke Yamaha. This is a new boat similar to my current 26 Marinero ll, but faster and quieter. The Marinero II will also be part of the fleet.
We should be up and running out of San Quintin by January or February of this year so i'll keep you updated and informed. I would like to thank you all for your support and friendship over the years while I was at El Capitan and I look forward to fishing with you on the new boat! I will continue to operate "El Capitan" until November.
My new phone number is: 011-52-616-103-6704. My e-mail will be the same for now. You can still contact me on the El Capitan #011-52-616-162-1716. This number will be cut off in late Oct. My partner/co-owner, Monte Kotur can be reached at the following number: 949-361-1144, San Clemente, Calif.
