Anglers are forewarned that weather and sea conditions on the Pacific Ocean and in the Sea of Cortez can suddenly become severe and completely unsafe for boating, especially in the small boats necessary for fishing in shallow water. Each year, many tragic and preventable deaths occur because of inexperience, ignorance, or refusal to follow standard safety rules. The most reliable sources of boating safety information are the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. It is very strongly recommended that anglers follow their recommended safety procedures, and learn at least the basics before beginning any fishing or boating activity.

The Baja Catch is not intended for, nor may it be used for, navigation or critical boating, flying, camping or driving activities. The Baja Catch is a general guide for angling and beach camping only. Although every effort has been expended to make The Baja Catch as accurate as possible, there may be mistakes in this information. The information, maps, estimated scales and compass headings provided in this fishing guide are approximate, and are intended for use in finding the general locations of the fishing grounds, not for navigation or avoidance of hazards.

Boaters and anglers are explicitly forewarned that all hazards and obstructions have not been shown, and the exact geographical location, shape and size of many features have been altered, deleted, or exaggerated for emphasis or clarity. Although every effort has been made to depict locations accurately, no warranty, express or implied, is made as to the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of the information herein. Anglers should use other charts and maps designed for navigation for that purpose, and always rely on common sense in their activities. Pilots are specifically forewarned that airport symbols may or may not indicate the presence of usable landing strips, and mountain elevations and locations are approximate. Both types of information are intended only for use by the small boater to find beaches and become familiar with the general appearance of land features from the water, not for navigational purposes, either by pilots or by boaters.

The Baja Catch may be used only with the understanding that the information contained therein is subject to errors or omissions, and that the publisher and authors cannot and do not make any warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, adequacy, safety or completeness of this information, nor shall they have any responsibility or liability to any person or entity in connection with any loss or damage caused or alleged to be caused by the use of this material.
