CASTING TO FEEDER MARLIN AT THE GOLDEN GATE BANK
WAS BEST FOR CABO FISHING BOATS THIS WEEK

Jan. 27, 2006, Mike Connolly, Falcon, Cabo San Lucas, Baja fishing, Mexico:

The Golden Gate Bank bite continues to be up and down. Wednesday was one of the good days with top scores by Senior Moment, Falcon and others, at 8 stripers released out of 10 to 12 hookups.

Casting to feeder spots and slow trolling did the job.

On Thursday, with 80 Cabo San Lucas boats sitting on the bank, fishing slowed dramatically. Down riggers are being used by some boats, including Trauma, with good results on striped marlin.

Bottom Line, T.J. Dobson, scored well at the Golden Gate with four striped marlin on Thursday, but scores like that were hard to come by.

Searching the beach has produced some good Pargo fishing for those Cabo San Lucas sportfishing boats making the commitment to stay after them.

Bottom Line was using teasers and plastics to raise the yellowfin tuna with good results on fish running to 80 pounds on Friday.

You still need a couple of fishing days to have your best chance to be out there when it is happening.
