LINGCOD TO 10 POUNDS CAUGHT BY FISHING BOAT
MATADOR NORTH OF ISLA TODOS SANTOS

Nov. 12, 2005, Emerald Argonza, Matador Sportfishing, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico:

Sportfishing has slowed down now here in Ensenada and most of us are doing just harbor cruises and surf trips.

The Matador went out fishing this past Wednesday the 9th. of November for a half-day trip and took 3 anglers to 8 lingcod up to 10 pounds, 1 olive rockfish about 7 pounds, 3 red snapper regular size of 2-3 pounds, and 10 rock cod mostly weighing up to 8 pounds.

The area fished was the north side of Ensenada's Todos Santos Island, with calm seas until about noon when wind picked up a little bit and it started to get a little rough

The fishing water temperature at Ensenada was 61.9 degrees. Most fish were caught with sardine and squid combo bait on a 3 hook leader. Lingcod were caught with sardine using single hook on reverse dropper.

There are Ensenada fishing reports of winter yellowtail now being caught locally around the Punta Banda area and Todos Santos Island if anglers target them specifically. That is all, until the next Ensenada sportfishing report from the Matador.
