ERENDIRA BOATS FISHING IN SOME BAJA RAIN

Oct. 11-17, 2004, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico:

This week 21 boats went out to fish. The water temperature was 60 degrees, 2 miles from the coast, and the water was clear and blue. Castro's Camp weather was very good during the week, very warm from Monday to Saturday.

Nevertheless, we had rain on Sunday morning, plus a little wind from the south. The week, we caught seven white seabass, five yellowtail, a few bonita, and many barracuda, red rockcod, lingcod, and cabrilla. The rockcod, whitefish, and all the bottom fish continued to be caught between 90 and 140 feet deep and 8 miles from Castro's Camp, and the white seabass were caught four miles from the coast at 70 feet deep. We continued to fish with salted sardines and live mackerel.
