DORADO OF 43 POUNDS CAUGHT OFF PUNTA COYOTE

Aug. 28, 2004, Luis Lopez, Cortez Club, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

Today on Saturday, La Paz fishing weather is beautiful, with a bit of heat and the sea like a mirror, so calm, like a lake.

During the week, we sent out seven super pangas and two cruisers which found good La Paz fishing, including a 43-pound dorado caught by the Picudo V 10 miles off Punta Coyote.

Ty Miller of Loreto and his group fished at El Bajo and caught a striped marlin, a sailfish, two big dorado, and a blue marlin estimated at 500 to 600 pounds that got away. The most caught species this week in the La Paz sportfishing area were dorado of 15 to 45 pounds, striped marlin, sailfish, and blue marlin.

La Paz weather had two small storms that passed far to the south and caused a little rain, but no problems. La Paz' air temperature has been up to 110 degrees, and the water temperature around Isla Espiritu Santo and Isla Cerralvo was 85 to 90 degrees.
