CHARTER BOATS FIND GOOD ACTION ON WAHOO

Oct. 24, 2004, Gerardo Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Las Arenas, La Paz, Mexico Fishing:

The first part of the week was a little slow as the dorado and tuna were not very active. In our La Paz fishing areas of Punta Arena and Ensenada de los Muertos, our captains worked hard, but they didn't have much luck during that period.

On Saturday, though, we had excellent action on wahoo of 30 to 45 pounds, every one of them, caught on Rapalas, plus a few small tuna, and dorado up to 45 pounds. La Paz weather continues to improve although on Friday we had a small amount of rain, and yesterday was cloudy, with air temperatures of 78 to 80 degrees, very nice weather.

With the wind, the sea temperature was 78 to 80 degrees around Isla Cerralvo and Ensenada de los Muertos. The La Paz vacation travel area continues to have lots of sardinas for bait.
