VACATION ANGLERS FISHING FOR MIXED SPECIES

April 30, 2005, Jonathan Roldan, Tailhunter International, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

It was another week of mixed fishing in La Paz vacation area waters. It seems we're still transitioning from cooler to warm waters with a little of this and a little of that in terms of fishing at La Paz. Although there are some warm water species around, most of the fishing is inshore.

Everyone is getting fish, but you just never know if it's going to be one of those windy days when fishing gets tough. Thankfully, La Paz conditions seem to be improving weekly.

Although there were a few scattered dorado picked up and one marlin was hooked and lost, the focus was on chasing some of the big snapper and pargo inshore, as well as some of the larger roosters along the beaches which have gone 50-70 pounds. There's not a lot of them, but the quality is certainly there.

Other species caught fishing around La Paz included some large sierra and cabrilla as well.
