YELLOWFIN TUNA OF 30 TO 65 POUND SURPRISE LOCAL ANGLERS

Dec. 31, 2005, Jonathan Roldan, Tailhunter International, La Paz, Mexico Sportfishing Report:

The La Paz fishing area had a big surprise this week. Off Las Arenas under dolphin, early in the week, yellowfin tuna showed up! It blew everyone away.

These weren't footballs either. There were tuna that ran 30 to 65 pounds! It's been a long time since I've seen tuna in December.

Additionally, it seems a lot of La Paz fish forgot it was winter, as we also had a bite of dorado and two marlin were also hooked! More in season, mixed in with all this were quite a few real nice sierra up to 10 pounds as well as snapper.
