VACATION TRAVEL REACHING ITS LOW POINT FOR THE YEAR

Sept. 11, 2005, Tadeo Hernandez, Flota Bibi Fleet, Mazatlan, Mexico Fishing Report:

We had few fishing outings this week. Tourism at Mazatlan is reaching the year's lowest, but the catch has been pretty good!

For 3 cabin cruiser deep sea fishing trips out of Mazatlan, we caught 2 Sailfish, 2 Skipjack Tuna, 1 Dorado, and a 60 lb Wahoo.

The best fishing was 15 to 25 miles offshore from the Lighthouse. Dorados were biting good at the buoys, 2 to 10 miles offshore, but the boats were targeting billfish mainly. The best bait this week was Mullet.

Also, Mazatlan sportfishing pangas had a great time catching Dorado, Skipjack Tuna, Red Snapper, Spotted Rose Snapper, Gulf Grouper, Spadefish and more. The best fishing for pangas was at the buoys and at floating debris. Best bait for small game this week was squid, pata de mula, skipjack tuna and lures.

Harbour of Mazatlan has been open daily, lots of rain during the nights, but beautiful sunny days almost everyday. Current weather conditions are 90 degrees with 62 percent humidity.
