TONY REYES PANGAS FIND SLOW
FISHING AT SEA OF CORTEZ ISLANDS

Sept. 5-10, 2004, Tony Reyes Jr., Tony Reyes Fishing Tours, Midriff Islands Mothership Fishing Trip by the Tony Reyes, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico:

We left from San Felipe, B.C., Mexico, with a group of anglers to fish in the Sea of Cortez. This time our chartermaster was Harry Alexander. This week, we fished at almost every island, from Partida, La Raza, San Lorenzo, and Bahia San Francisquito, to Angel de la Guarda, and finally, the Enchanted Islands. Water temperatures averaged 80 degrees, with neap tides.

Fishing was slow every day, with both lures and bait. We had calm seas all week, with lots of clouds on the coast, and the week before, a big rain hit San Francisquito Bay, putting a lot of trash in the water, such as trees and cactus. The giant squid didn't show up this trip. A 90-pound sailfish was caught at San Francisquito Bay, and a nice roosterfish at the Enchanted Islands. We hope the fishing improves with the next tide. Thanks to everybody.
