CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY VACATION
VISITORS WEARING WARM CLOTHING

Dec. 26, 2004, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico:

Hola and Feliz Navidad from San Felipe where it is a little cloudy this morning and a rather cool 65 degrees with the humidity at 39% and the water is calm with a temperature of 60 degrees.

There are lots of heavy duty jackets on the full-timers, a SURE indicator of who is a visitor from up North and who lives here all year round. But sitting in the sun it's really HOT. Yesterday the wind, which had been blowing steadily and very briskly for nine days (the fishermen were getting really sick and tired of having to harbor their boats.

The water has been downright ROUGH), finally let up and we had an absolutely gorgeous Christmas day, clear blue sky and sunny surrounds for outdoor turkey barbecues. Everyone was mighty relieved and the folks from El Dorado's "Parade Of Lights" distributed about a thousand toys to the kids downtown. Let's hope it stays nice for a good long while. The fishermen really need a break from the wind. Happy New Year everyone, and let us pray for PEACE ON EARTH. Until next time, vaya con Dios from the bookstore by the bay.
