BIG GAME FISHING PRODUCES A MIXED BAG OF BILLFISH SPECIES

Cabo San Lucas billfish averages were just above the one-per-boat this past week and it was a mixed bag of stripers & sailfish, along with an occasional blue marlin hookup.

Overall counts for Gaviota Fleet for 30 Cabo San Lucas fishing days reflected 21 stripers, (11 released) 13 sailfish, 3 wahoo, 7 dorado & 17 yellowfin tuna.

"Fish Cabo", reporting for 4 Cabo San Lucas fishing days reflected 2 stripers & 2 sailfish released, 1 blue marlin released, 1 yellowfin tuna and 9 dorado and the "Juanita VIII" reporting for 7 Cabo San Lucas fishing days had a triple 7 combination of 7 stripers released, 7 yellowfin tuna & 7 dorado.

Cabo Climate: 77 at night to 100 daytime high's, mostly sunny

Sea Conditions: Farily calm weather persists, water temps ranged from 82-84 degrees

Best Fishing Area: Outside of Chileno and northward to the Gordo Banks

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was best for the billfish and a must for the sailfish.

Live Bait Supply: Good, all caballitos.
