DORADO FEEDING FRENZY ABOARD THE
CHARTER FISHING BOAT BAD MEDICINE
Nov. 13, 2004, Al Scarpello, Cabo San Lucas Fishing, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
I and my wife Lisa Scarpello got into a school of hungry dorados on November 10th in Cabo San Lucas. It was a real feeding frenzy. We don't even know how many we caught. We were releasing them as fast as we were catching them. Of course we brought a few home.
Our Cabo San Lucas boat was the "Bad Medicine," a 34-foot Striker, out of Cabo Villas, with Capt. Lobo and crew Bernie and Carlos.
We've fished with them before and they are absolutely first class all the way. We fished about 25 miles up the Pacific side from Cabo San Lucas on a half-day trip. Somewhere in the mix we caught a small yellowfin tuna, and on the way back we caught a nice striped marlin. The water temp was somewhere around 80 degrees and it was very calm. We stayed at the Finisterra Hotel where they were more than happy to deep freeze our fish for us.
We fished also with the Bad Medicine in August of this year and were very impressed. Not only did they get us on to the 40 to 80-pound yellowfin, but they also fillet and package up your catch for you. Capt. Lobo makes sure you don't miss the pilot whales and jumping manta rays during the day too. You just don't get any better than this crew.
