NOVEMBER FISHING SEASON IS SEASONABLY GOOD THIS YEAR
Nov. 11-18, 2004, Benjamin Ortega, Solmar Fleet, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
November, usually one of the better fishing periods in Cabo San Lucas waters, is living up to those expectations thus far, with both striped marlin and dorado catches on the upswing.
The Faro Viejo has been the best spot for marlin and yellowfin tuna, Solmar fleet captains report.
It was there that Dale Bidlake of Port Townsend, Wash. took a single Cabo San Lucas striped marlin along with four yellowfin tuna on an orange-black lure while fishing from the San Lucas V.
Cabo San Lucas resident Mr. Mossler (no first name provided) worked those same waters, decking 15 yellowfin fishing the Solmar III.
Sabrina Ladner of Diamond Head, MS, had "great time" taking three dorado and one striper - all on live bait -- aboard the San Lucas V at the 95 Spot.
Silver State couple Hallie and Al White of Boulder City, fishing with a bait tank full of live mackerel on the El Torito, had the time of their lives in taking 15 dorado off the San Jose Bank.
The Old Cabo San Lucas Lighthouse provided a good bite on dorado for Santa Ana, Calif. angler Randy Simmons, boat four on the Solmar IV, all on live mackerel.
Douglas and Eva Chinn of Arcadia, Calif., fishing the San Lucas VI off Faro Viejo, used live mackerel in taking three dorado and one yellowfin.
Cabo San Lucas Captain of the week honors went to Mario Arballo of the Solmar VI for leading his passengers to four striped marlin, 43 dorado, 18 yellowfin and two wahoo in six outings.
Total Cabo San Lucas catch including releases for the week by the Solmar fleet was 22 striped marlin, 43 yellowfin tuna, 125 dorado, 21 jacks and 17 wahoo in 92 outings.
