CABO SAN LUCAS BOATS FISHING
MOSTLY ON THE PACIFIC OCEAN SIDE
Jan. 7, 2005, Larry Edwards, Cortez Yacht Charters, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
While Cabo San Lucas fishing for marlin has been showing pretty well, they have not been all that cooperative this past week, with the billfish catch results at about 65% and close to the same for dorado and yellowfin tuna.
Overall Gaviota Fleet Cabo San Lucas catches for 40 fishing days reflected 26 striped marlin, (18 released) 26 dorado (mahi-mahi) and 29 yellowfin tuna. High Gaviota Fleet Cabo San Lucas charter fishing boat for the week was Juan Dominguez, "Gaviota 8", with 4 billfish for 3 fishing days.
Cabo San Lucas Climate: Mostly sunny, temperatures varied from 56 nights to 83 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Cabo San Lucas sea surface water temperatures fairly were stable this week at 73.5 to 74.5 degrees.
The best Cabo San Lucas sportfishing area continues to be on the Pacific side, from Golden Gate to Jaime, and south of Cabo Falso
Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was a must for the billfish, with dorado taken on the mackerel colors and drop-back live bait.
Cabo San Lucas Live Bait Supply: Mostly Pacific Greenback Mackerel.
