STORMY WEATHER STOPS GOOD MARLIN FISHING AT CABO SAN LUCAS
Aug. 24, 2005, Art Coleman, Cabo San Lucas marlin fishing, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
I just got back from fishing at Cabo San Lucas. What a trip.
My son Brent and I fished with the Gaviota fleet on the Gaviota IX.
We fished on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas on Saturday and Sunday, 8/20 and 8/21, in beautiful weather about 5 knots of wind, and calm seas, with a fishing water temperature of 74 to 78 degrees.
We fished the Golden Gate bank area both days.
I had 1 striped Marlin on Saturday and 1 on Sunday, both about 140 pounds.
Brent my son had 1 striped marlin on Saturday that went about 150 pounds and a 35 pound Bull dorado on Sunday.
Great 2 days of Cabo San Lucas fishing until about midnight Sunday when the storm hit which needless to say put an end to our trip.
I can't say enough about the great service from Groupo Bahia. This is my 4th trip with them this year and we have had a great time every trip. The crew work very hard to get us into the action and I look forward to our next Cabo San Lucas fishing trip in October. By the way all Marlin were released.
