LOS CABOS FISHING DAY BY THE BOAT
DOS GUEROS PRODUCES 8 TUNA AND 2 DORADO
Sept. 30, 2005, Bob Lewis, Cabo San Lucas fishing, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
I went fishing Sunday on my boat Dos Gueros, launched from Cabo San Lucas. We fished the Iman bank with many other fishing boats from Los Barriles and Los Cabos and also the La Playita panga fleet.
Sardinas are plentiful and we used chunk skipjack as well. The yellowfin tuna bite was slow but steady and the skipjack were mixed with school size yellowfin.
We ended with 8 tuna, 2 dorado, and a dozen skipjack. During this week the tuna bite continued, with occasional small dorado. I saw 2 wahoo and 2 sailfish also in the count.
Hurricane Otis has canceled my Saturday plans and we are hunkered down for now.
The water temperature was 89 degrees. Present conditions at Cabo are cloudy with intermittent showers and breezy to maybe 25 m.p.h. Tonight or tomorrow is supposed to get somewhat worse but so far no big deal. Seas are large and out of control.
