FISHING ABOARD THE CHARTER BOAT MARISOL III
WITH CAPT. MANUEL FOR 2 STRIPERS RELEASED
Jan. 16, 2006, Charles Whitesell, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
My wife, Ginger, and I fished last Thursday on the Cabo San Lucas charter boat Marisol III with skipper Manuel and deck hand Antonio and we caught 2 striped marlin, the largest was 130 pounds, both released.
Seas were a little choppy and water temperature 72 degrees. We saw a lot of bird activity and porpoise and trolled over the schools with feathers and fished under them with live bait to no avail. Although there were about 20 boats at the location, we saw no hookups. We were fishing 10 to 15 miles southeast of the Arch. Weather was a spectacular 80 degrees.
The Marisol III is a 32 foot private boat owned by Pedro Druk, who can be reached via his sister in law at 011 52 624 144 3764. I have fished with him for years and he is quite good, with moderate English skills, and his skippers and deckhands speak English. He has one or two other boats called Marisol II and I think one Marisol I. They are very honest and hard working local people.
