FISHING THE PACIFIC SIDE OF CABO ON THE CHARTER PANGA CHEER'S
Nov. 4, 2006, Ramon Druck, charter panga Cheer's, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
Sunday, Oct. 29th:
I left Cabo San Lucas to fish from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with client Tim Ednondson, fishing near the beach at Cabo Falso, catching 4 roosterfish with fly fishing tackle, and 1 dorado of 10 pounds also. The weather was very nice at 84 degrees, hot with a very calm sea. We got many more bites but they came unhooked.
Monday, Oct. 30th:
I fished from 6:30 a.m. to 12 noon, along the beach of Faro Viejo on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, with anglers Robert Page and Kathy Maddes, catching 4 good-sized dorado of 20 to 25 pounds, other dorado of 10 to 15 pounds, and about 5 barrilete or black skipjack. We had a pleasant morning of fishing, with Cabo San Lucas weather at 85 degrees, with just a little pleasant wind, and some seas, but fishable.
Tuesday, Oct. 31st:
Today, my boat Cheer's caught 5 dorado, 4 barrilete, and 5 bonito. Three of the dorado were 35 to 37 pounds, and the others were 10 to 15 pounds. We left Cabo San Lucas at 6:30 a.m. and returned at 12:30 p.m. with clients Edward Walsh and Edward Walsh III. We fished the Pacific shore at Faro Viejo out to 2 or 3 miles, and the anglers had a good time.
Wednesday, Nov. 1st:
Today is my birthday. I fished with 3 clients, Chris and Corrie Crager, and Chad Mayr, catching 5 dorado, about 4 barrilete and bonito, and 1 striped marlin of 140 to 150 pounds. The dorado were of 15 to 20 pounds, and we also caught 1 roosterfish of 5 or 6 pounds. We had a good time fishing, with the water temperature at Cabo San Lucas at 85 degrees and the air temperature the same, with a very calm sea, hot but nice weather. We fished 3 or 4 miles out from Faro Viejo.
Saturday, Nov. 4th:
The Cheer's fished from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 5 hours, for a catch of 5 barrilete, 6 bonito, and 3 big dorado of 20 to 30 pounds, with very nice water at 83 degrees, about 3 miles off Faro Viejo. I fished with 2 anglers today.
