LOCAL CHARTER FISHING ON THE SUPER PANGA CHEER'S
Dec. 12-14, 2006, Ramon Druck, charter super panga Cheer's fishing report, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico:
Fishing on Tuesday, Dec. 12th:
The Cheer's departed Cabo San Lucas planning to fish from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., about 5 hours of fishing with 2 clients, Don H. Jones Sr., and Don H. Jones Jr. We found the fishing to be very good.
We released 3 marlin of about 130 to 150 pounds and 1 dorado of 25 pounds, and we returned to Cabo San Lucas after 3 hours of fishing about 3 miles offshore and 2 hours of bottom fishing along the beach in front of Faro Viejo. Amazingly, we hooked the 3 marlin on a triple hookup. The weather at Cabo San Lucas was very good, with a calm sea and water temperature of 85 to 86 degrees.
Fishing on Wednesday, Dec. 13th:
The super panga Cheer's fished from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with 2 anglers on board: Steven Levasseur and Susan Levasseur. We found the fishing very good for a catch of 3 small sierra of about 3 to 4 pounds, 2 dorado of 10 to 15 pounds, and 1 big sierra of about 11 or 12 pounds. We fished in a water temperature of 84 to 85 degrees about 1 or 2 miles directly in front of Faro Viejo.
Fishing on Thursday, Dec. 14th:
The Cheer's left Cabo San Lucas to fish from 7 a.m. to 12 noon with just one client on board: Luther Brock. We found good fishing and we caught 9 sierras of 4 to 5 pounds, 1 pompano of 2 pounds, 2 skipjack of 3 or 4 pounds, and 3 roosterfish or pez gallo of 10 to 11 pounds.
The water temperature off Cabo San Lucas was 83 to 84 degrees, the fishing on a very calm sea, however with large swells and big surf along the beach. We went out to fish on the Pacific Ocean side of Cabo around Faro Viejo. For the last 2 hours of fishing remaining to us, we fished about 100 or 200 meters from the shore.
