NEW CASTRO'S CAMP FISHING BOATS EASILY HOLD 4 ANGLERS

August 3, 2004, Chris Kugel, Castro’s Camp, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico Fishing:

Got to go fishing one day at Castro’s Camp. We went south with Capt. Ubaldo. Most of the fleet went north. Should have gone with them. The sea bass bite was wide open up north of us. One boat had twenty-six (26) whites. The fleet as a whole had over forty-five (45).

We had three hooked, only one to the boat. I had a large fish on but got bit on fifteen pound string. Fight lasted 20 plus minutes then it came unbuttoned. We were fishing the beach at Colonet, mixed catch of rock fish, calicos, lings, sand bass and white sea bass. This happened on Saturday the 31st.

Castro's Camp fishing on Sunday the 1st was good but the sea bass bite was down. The best score off of one boat was five sea bass. Best fish was forty lbs. They also got five nice yellowtail from 18 to 25lbs and a load of rock fish.

The weather was great, no swell wind chop in the afternoon.

Now to the new Castro’s Camp fishing boats. They are 23 feet long have an 8-ft beam and will fish four easily and up to a maximum of six people.
