VERY GOOD WHITE SEABASS COUNTS SCORED BY CASTRO'S CAMP FISHING BOATS
Erendira Fishing, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Baja California, Mexico, Sept. 5, 2004:
This week we had 31 Castro's Camp boats fishing. Erendira water temperature was 68 degrees, and the water color was clear blue. Erendira had good fishing weather with light breezes until noon. Schools of mackerel and sardine baits continued to come into our Castro's Camp area, and the seagulls and pelicans have been here on the beach. Castro's Camp fishing boats caught 73 white seabass, 43 large yellowtail, many bonita, many barracuda, and many red rockcod, lingcod, cabrilla, calico bass, and bottom fish, using live mackerel, salted sardines, or frozen squid for bait. The white seabass and yellowtail were caught 3 miles from Erendira in 50 to 70 feet of water, and the bottom fish were caught 5 or 6 miles out in 90 to 120 feet of water. |
