GOOD YELLOWTAIL AND WHITE SEABASS COUNTS FOR CASTRO'S CAMP FISHING BOATS

Sept. 12, 2004, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico:

We had 22 boats fish during the week at Erendira. Erendira water temperature was 74 degrees, and the color was blue. We had light breezes until noon, and very calm afternoons with warm temperatures for the whole week. Our Castro's Camp boats caught 33 white seabass, 29 very large yellowtail, and many barracuda, bonita, red rockcod, cabrilla, calico bass, and whitefish. For bait, we continued to have live mackerel, salted sardines, and frozen squid, with good results. We fished the same areas, about 3 to 6 miles from the coast, in 50 to 120 feet of water. There is a lot of bait in the water, and lots of pelicans and seagulls on Erendira beaches.
