ERENDIRA SPORTFISHING BOATS LANDING YELLOWTAIL AND WHITE SEABASS
Sept. 13-19, 2004, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico:
During the week, 24 Castro's Camp boats fished. We had very good fishing weather just about all week, but Sunday was windy from the northwest, 10 to 15 m.p.h. The water was clear and blue at about 70 degrees. Our Castro's Camp fishing catch this week was: 20 white seabass, 15 yellowtail (very large), 30 bonita, lots of barracuda, and lots of red rockcod, lingcod, cabrilla, and whitefish. We continue to fish with live mackerel bait, salted sardines, and frozen squid, and we will continue with these until they stop working so well. Castro's Camp fishing boats fished for the yellowtail and white seabass 3 miles from the coast in 60 to 180 feet of water. We continue to see lots of bait in the water, and pelicans and seagulls on the beaches. |
