JUST SO-SO FISHING FOUND DURING TRIP 14 MILES OUT

Dec. 15, 2004, Alfredo Paullada, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico:

We had a so-so fishing trip to Erendira. We took a chance and went 14 miles out to deeper water, 320 feet. We were using 8-ounce Jax jigs tipped with frozen squid. The quality was good, but quantity was not. We caught big reds and big lingcod. A lot of "hard work." For some reason, the fish had "lockjaw." We saw very good marks. The water off Erendira was blue and calm. The wind picked up in the afternoon. We fished until 4:30 p.m. It was dark by the time we hit the Erendira ramp. Capt. Conrado really tried, but no cigar. We were the only fishing boat out of Erendira on Sunday the 12th.
