BOATS FISHING FOR MIXED BOTTOM SPECIES IN MOSTLY GOOD WEATHER
April 10, 2005, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Erendira, Mexico Fishing Report:
This week Castro's Camp had 14 boats go fishing at Erendira, Baja California, catching lingcod, red rockcod, whitefish, and a few barracuda. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Erendira had good fishing weather.
On Thursday, there was wind from the northeast in the morning and part of the afternoon, at about 15 m.p.h. On Friday, we had wind of 10 m.p.h. in the morning, and again more wind on Saturday. On Sunday, Erendira had good fishing weather again.
Although we had wind for three days, we were able to go out fishing, as normally the boats go out about 6:30 a.m., and they were returning in the afternoon with good catches. However, because of the movement of the sea, we had many people seasick.
The temperature of the water in our fishing area about 7 miles from the coast is 53 degrees, and the color is clear blue.
