BIG SQUID CAUGHT IN COOL FISHING WATERS AT 56 DEGREES
May 1, 2005, Fernando Castro, Castro's Camp, Erendira, Mexico Fishing Report:
This week we had 16 boats fishing at Erendira, Baja California, Mexico. We are catching lingcod, red rockcod, calico bass, whitefish, and very large Humboldt squid.
The fishing weather at Erendira during the week was very calm on Monday morning, but with northeast wind of 10 to 15 m.p.h. beginning about 11 a.m.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, we had good fishing weather.
On Thursday, we had very light showers for about an hour in the morning, but the rest of the day was very nice.
On Friday, the morning was good, but in the afternoon the wind blew at 8 to 10 m.p.h. Saturday was about the same.
Today, on Sunday, we have very good fishing conditions again, but with some fog. The water is clear blue in our main fishing area 3 miles from the coast, and the water temperature is 56 degrees.
