GOOD FISHING ABOUT 300 FEET DEEP WITH CAPT. CONRRADO
May 24, 2005, Alfredo Paullada, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico Fishing Report:
We went fishing out of Erendira with Capt. Conrrado on Sunday. The morning was foggy with some swell. On the way out about 10 miles we stopped to fish at a kelp paddy, and got 1 yellowtail about 15 pounds. We trolled our jigs around the area but had no luck.
We went another mile to our designated fishing area around 300 feet deep, and the fishing started out slow on small rockfish, a few here and there, so we moved. This new fishing spot was hot, with big reds to 6 pounds, lingcod to 12 pounds, very good rock fishing.
The fish were biting as soon as you got to the bottom. It was the best fishing that I ever experienced in Erendira. The water temperature was 59 degrees and the color was kind of green. We fished with heavy Jax jigs and plastics. You could not miss. It was a lot of fun.
