TWO DAYS OF BAJA FISHING WITH CAPT. PANCHO AND CAPT. OSCAR
Sept. 26-27, 2005, Jason Pasto, Erendira, Baja California, Mexico Fishing Report:
We fished at Erendira with Pancho the first day and Oscar the second day. Pancho was having problems with his motor when we came in the first day and he was fixing it the next morning. Both are from Castro's camp.
The first fishing day, we caught 5 Ling Cod and released 4-5 too small, 15 Cocos and released 5-6 too small, 14 reds, mostly good size, 4 sand bass, 3 Sculpin, and 3 White fish.
The second day of fishing, we caught 2 Ling Cod, 5 Cocos, 10 reds mostly good size again, and 2 Sculpin.
The depth we fished was 80-100 feet.
The first day we went South about an hour, fairly close to shore and filled the cooler. The water was flat when we went out and we caught 3-4 foot swells on the way in. The swells seemed bigger and we went slowly because the swells were coming in from the north.
The second day we went north about an hour still fairly close to shore and filled 1/2 of the cooler. We came in at noon because the seas were getting rough. We went north to ride the Southern swells in to minimize the rough swells.
